Paul Revers Ride
Paul was the spy/messenger for the Battle of Lexington. he was on his way to see where they were. Dr. Joseph Warren gave him the orders to ride near the British. he then warning the town of Medford that the British were on their way to them,to be careful. Paul was an important person to the upcoming battle of Lexington. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
This is the first battle of the revolutionary war. in the town of Lexington the British are on their way to find hidden weapons and waiting for them are unskilled colonial soldiers. Paul revere's warning Americans about the British. when the red coats saw their weapons, american's get in their way. many died but Americans had won. it was at this point that everyone realized this was the first battle. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Americans( with a leader named Colonel William Prescott) had learned the British (who was led by Major General William Howe and Brigadier General Robert Pigot) were staying in Charleston Boston and decided to form an attack. As they took on the battle they realized there were too many for the Americans to fight so they had to retreat. the British won but this event caused the Americans to be strong and to not give up. But the British realized the war would be long lasting for them all. -

Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin describe why we should have Independence as Americans. Jefferson wrote this to explain our rights we have as equals to each other. it truly changed America and who we are as people. -

Crossing of the Delaware River
Washington's army set out across the icy sea to surprise attack the Hessian mercenaries in Trenton. America needed another victory and Washington thought that was the way to do it. they left at night to keep it secret. one of the little boy solders wanted to go and fight but Washington knew he would die. so he had him hold a lantern on land in case they needed to come back.when they got there they made set out to make their victory. they finally did it. they made the victory they wanted. -
Battle of Trenton
after crossing the Delaware river that morning, American troops split in two groups and fled into the city of Trenton. Washington kill the British commander Johann Rall and only two American's died. George Washington showed his leadership by making the right battle plan. because of their victory, more people joined the army -
The Winter of Valley Forge
The American army suffered from many battle before going to Valley Forge Pennsylvania.The troops were then very hungry and sick and cold. Washington picked a spot he knew would fit best to keep them safe but still defend their territory. Troops had a hard time getting more supply's. they used only what they needed Baron von Steuben and Marquis de Lafayette made a big impact with the soldiers. Baron gave combat training and Marquis dealt with troops hardships.This shaped the American Army. -
Battle of Saratoga
This was the turning point of the war for america. everyone was scared to fight England but they trusted in Washington to fight in New York. The Americans had the advantage being in the woods it over all ended by over 5,000 troops surrendered to America. after that France and america made an alliance and the French declared war on Great Britain as well as Spain. -
The Battle of Philadelphia
British General Howe wanted to capture the colonial capitol of Philadelphia, and Washington got there to defend the capitol right along the Brandywine River so he could guard the route between Baltimore and Philadelphia. but General Howe knew this and found a way to ambush the American army and capture the capitol. Americans then retreated. this battle helped out the British show congress Washington leadership. then again helped Washington learn how to make better battle plans but felt deated. -
Battle of York Town
In Yorktown Virginia Washington joined the French and American army. At the time the British was commanded by lord Cornwallis. they all stationed at the York river. Washington plan to get to the British on land they would dig trenches to the back of their dense line and attack there. it had worked, the British surrendered and accepted the surrender sword. the Americans had finally won the war. -
treaty of paris
The document that ended the American revolution, agreeing peace between Great Britain and America. American negotiators, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay helped over view what should be stated for America in the treaty. it discussed the boundaries for each parties. on the last page the three negotiators and David Hartley who represented for Great Britain all signed at the bottom.
