  • French-Indian War

    French-Indian War
    The French-Indian war was between Great Britain, France, and many different Indian tribes. This declared who would receive the land in the Ohio River Valley. After 7 years of war, Great Britain defeated France and gained the land in North America. This war began on May 28, 1754 and ended February 10, 1763.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was the first law passed by Great Britain in that taxed the resources coming in from American Colonies. This law also funded what Great Britain gained after the French-Indian War and the law helped decline the acts of stealing sugar and molasses from French and Dutch West Indies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was established my British Parliament that taxed newspapers, legal documents, pamphlets, and more. It was another way for Great Britain to gain funding for the French-Indian War. However, the Stamp Act was repealed on March 18, 1766.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was to taxed and put restrictions on multiple goods coming from the American Colonies. Colonists did not like the idea of this and began protesting and boycotting British goods. Which led to a divide of American Colonists, creating two parties which were Patriots and Loyalists.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a event that ended with five killed Bostonians. The anger and bitterness towards Great Britain started to increase with colonist. 2,000 of British soldiers were sent to Boston to stop the riots and protesting.
  • The Tea Act and Boston Tea Party

    The Tea Act and Boston Tea Party
    The Tea Act was passed by Great Britain that gave the British East India Company complete control over the price of tea in American Colonies, this allowed Britain to pay off their debt from the French-Indian War. Colonists were enraged and denied paying this act and this is what led into the Boston Tea Party
  • The Coercive Act

    The Coercive Act
    The Coercive Act was established to punish the Massachusetts Bay Colony for the Boston Tea Party. This act was also known as the Intolerable Act, Boston Port Act, and Quartering Act. These laws involved closing the Boston Harbor and for the military to be stationed at a more convenient area. This time frame is when the Continental Congress first met, reasoning against Great Britain.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord is what started the American Revolution. Great Britain troops planned to take away weapons to colonials. The colonials planned to fight off the troops. This began another Continental Congress meet.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was the day America declared independence over the country. This document separated of America's 13 colonies from Great Britain.
  • France Recognizes America

    France Recognizes America
    America formed their first alliance during the American Revolutionary War by signing a treaty with France called, "Treaty of Alliance". France helped financially supported America during this war and supplied America with troops.
  • Great Britain Surrenders

    Great Britain Surrenders
    Because Great Britains troops could not bare war any longer, General Cornwallis commanded Britain to surrender.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris was the documentation of the American Revolution ended. This document recognized America as an independent country and gave them full custody over western territories.
