The Stamp Act
The stamp act is asymmetrical. The British passed the stamp act. It required all American colonists to pay tax on every piece of printed paper they used, so the colonists didn't like it. The colonists sent letters to the British but the British would ignore them. The colonists would also start boycotting things. So the colonists didn't do what the British thought they would do.

Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre is asymmetrical. The British would kill five colonists on March 5, 1770. It started when Royal troops came to Massachusetts in Oct. 1768 to enforce the tax burden that came from the Townshend Acts. The colonists did not approve so they released engravings and written accounts to show what the British soldiers did.

The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party is asymmetrical. Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded 3 ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This is them saying get rid of taxation.

Lexington and Concord
Lexington and Concord are asymmetrical. General Gage would send a few British soldiers quartered in Boston. In Lexington the soldiers had to capture Sam Adams and John Hancock, in Concord they had to seize gunpowder. Friends of American went to spy for them and heard Gage's plan. They would hang lanterns from Boston's North Church to tell countryside that the British were going to attack by sea, so they knew what was going to happen and when.

Bunker (Breed's) Hill
This battle is symmetrical. General Howe was apart of this battle. This battle took place a few months after the American Revolutionary War started. The British were trying to keep control of the city and control its sea ports. The British defeated the Americans at the battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts.

The battle of Trenton was a small battle during the American Revolutionary war. . It happened Christmas day morning in Trenton , New Jersey. The Battle of Princeton happened January 3, 1777 and it was also a small battle. George Washington's army crossed the icy Delaware and over the next 10 days , won 2 battles of the American Revolution.

Battle of Saratoga
Fought 18 days apart in the fall of 1777, the 2 battles of Saratoga were a turning point in the American Revolution. General Burgoyne, Horatio Gates, and Benedict Arnold were apart of this battle. September 19th, General Burgoyne achieved a small victory over American forces led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold.

The Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge is symmetrical. George Washington and his troops and The British were apart of this. It was in Pennsylvania, on December 19, 1777. Washington thought that they should stay inside and wait and so did the other people. That is how the continental army wintering at valley forge is symmetrical.

Battle of Yorktown
General George Washington, had a force of 17,000 French and Continental troops began the battle of Yorktown against British Charles Cornwallis. Washington had Marquis de Lafayette and an American army of 5,000 troops to block Cornwallis' escape from Yorktown by land while the French naval fleet blocked the British escape by sea. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington on Oct. 17, 1781, ending the War for independence.
