    Battles at Lexington and Concord
    The very first battle of the revolutionary war. British troops took a march on Concord to take an arms cache, but minuteman appeared to stop them in their tracks. Paul Revere was one of the men that sounded the alarm for the minute men.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    British defeated the Americans in Massachusetts. Even though they lost the colonial men caused heavy casualties for the British enemies, which caused a significant boost in moral amongst the colonies.
  • Invasion of Quebec

    Invasion of Quebec
    Patriotic forces attempt to capture occupied city of Quebec and failed. This was the first major defeat of the Americans. This defeat showed the Americans they couldn't just take anything they wanted.
  • Battle of Savannah

    Battle of Savannah
    New York loyalist launch a surprise attack on American forces defending Savannah in Georgia. The fort was successfully taken by the British. Later in 1779 French and American forces put Savannah under siege but failed to reclaim the city. This event was another example of a colonist failure. (Picture shows the siege of 1779)

    Battle of Yorktown
    George Washington begins siege on Yorktown with the help of the French. The colonist won and this marked the end of fighting in the colonies.
