Town Shed Act
The Townshend Acts were a group of four laws meant to make the colonists obey British rules. Instead, they made the colonists even angrier and hurt their sense of self-government, which they cared a lot about. I Think this is important because it shows that the colonist were forced to obey the british rules with theses laws and this caused the spike in colonist to get mad which would eventually lead to the american revolution. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an eventful riot that happened between the patriot colonists and loyal British soldiers who were called loyalists because they were British colonists. This is an important event because the British colonists opened fire on the colonists which killed at least 5 people and how this event got its name -
The Boston Tea Party
Liberty led a protest in Boston Harbor because the colonists were tired of the tea tax and British control. Throwing 342 chests of tea into the water was one of the first big actions that started the push for revolution. This is important because it shows when the colonist actually did something to rebel against the british army or british in general. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
These first battles marked the official start of the American Revolution. It's still a mystery which side fired the first shot. This is important because this marks the first battle of the beginning American Revolution. -
Declaration Of Independence
The colonists declared their independence from Britain by signing and ratifying the Declaration of Independence. This was an important event because once it was signed there was no going back, the fight for independence had begun. -
Battle of Long Island
The British won the first big battle after the Declaration of Independence was adopted. However, Washington was able to escape across the East River with most of his army, which helped save American lives and keep their spirits up. This is important because it shows that even tho the british won they managed to escape which saved lives and kept their spirits up. -
Washington crosses the Delaware
During a tough winter with bad weather and not much food, Washington led 2,400 soldiers across the Delaware River and surprised the Hessians in Trenton. This surprise attack worked and gave the Continental Army their first big win of the war. This is important because this is one of the biggest win of the war that they got so far. -
Battle Of Yorktown
The American forces and allies defeated the British forces led by Lord Cornwallis. The battle ended on October 17, when the leader raised a flag of truce because both sides were suffering from diseases, scarce supplies, and harsh weather. This is important because it shows that both sides had to actually agree with eachother to call off a battle between both sides because of the harsh weather and the diseases they had to face during their battle. -
Siege of Yorktown
The French and Americans fought against the British, and the British ended up losing. This basically stopped the fighting in the war, and it was clear that the Americans had won. This is important because the tells the readers that the french had teamed up with the Americans in fighting against the british. -
The War Is Over
The Peace of Paris treaties were signed and this brought the end to the american revolution war. This is important because the british lost its battle was forced to sign the peace of paris to end the war.
