    This is when the representatives from the thirteen colonies, met for the first time. They were responsible for keeping the legislation in tact. The group consisted of 22 members of the governor and burgesses (representatives). These meetings, helped lead the colonists to make the movement towards independance.

    Navigation Acts Are Passed
    The Navigation Acts restricted any colonists form trading with any other country, but Great Britain.
    These Acts were passed by the British hoping to control trading system so that they would get the profit. These acts started the up rise in the colonists which lead to the Revolution.
  • French and Indian War Begins

    French and Indian War Begins
    This seven year war was fought between the French and Native Americans against the British, for control of the U.S. In the end, the British won and the French were forced to give up their land. This event is apart of one of the many wars leading up to the revolutionary war itself, ending with a peace treaty in Paris in 1783 when the American Revolution ended as well.

    Proclamation Line
    The British made the line to attempt to separate the Indian country form the white settlement. The king and his council made this proclamation to clam the fears of the Indians, who felt that the colonists would drive them from their land.

    The Boston Massacre
    This is when British redcoats killed five civilian men. Some soldiers were in Boston trying to keep order but a couple of townspeople saw them as threats to independence. They started to throw snowballs and rocks at them but in return the redcoats acted in violence.

    The Boston Tea Party
    One important event in the American Revolution was the early clash known as the Boston Tea Party. In the year 1773, about a handful of colonists began protesting the tax on tea. By doing so, the handful of colonists snuck on to a boat and started throwing cargo, which was British tea into a harbor. Later on, Parliament passed some laws to punish Massachusetts for the destruction of tea. It caused other colonies to oppose the British response. This event became known as the Boston Tea Party.

    Siege of Boston
    This event was the opening phase of the Revolutionary war. New England militiamen surrounded the town of Boston, Massachusetts. The Americans, led by George Washington, eventually made them draw back after and 11 month siege. They departed on March 17th, which is now celebrated as Evacuation Day.

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    In our society, fighting is often the way that we deal with our problems. During the American Revolution, we fought for our Independence from the British, which included many wars. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first of many revolutionary wars that took place on April18th 1775. This battle started when the British troops were sent over to the colonies to capture John Hancock and Samuel Adams for their involvement in the Second Continental Congress.

    This was a meeting between representatives, it also lead to the writing of the Declaration of Independence and signing to claim Americas independence from the British.

    The signing of the Declaration of Independence was a statement that announced the 13 American colonies, an independent country. It was a historical event that declared the United States of America to the world.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown was the last of the revolutionary wars to take place and lead to the signing of the peace treaty in 1783. The battle was held in Virginia involving 8,800 Americans, 7,800 French and 6,000 British.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Peace treaty declaring the end of the revolutionary and the French and Indian wars was held in Paris. This is a significant event in history because the many countries were involved in the signing of historical documents, that established many countries independance.
