The Piece of Paris
The piece of Paris- This treaty ended the Seven year’s war against the British and the French. The Treaty established Britain gaining control of India and North America, making it the world’s greatest colonial power. -
Proclamation of 1763
King George III started making laws and taxes that could cover the war and started with the Proclamation. The Proclamation was a law that stated that colonists could not move westward over the Appalachian Mountains, and that angered the colonists. -
The Stamp Act
- An act that put a stamp on anything paper, like playing cards, wills, and diplomas. The purpose of this act was to help pay for troops stationed in North America after the British victory in the Seven Year’s war or the French and Indian War.

First Congress of the American Colonies
- A meeting was held in New York City to talk about the Stamp Act and made the decision that the Parliament could not tax the American colonies since they had no representation in Parliament. The British would not listen instead they placed new laws and taxes.

- during the Second Continental Congress, Lee put forth the motion to the Continental Congress to declare Independence from Great Britain

The signing of this document declared the colonists free from King George and England and sparked the American Revolution. -

This treaty ended the American Revolutionary War between Great Britain and The United States of America and its allies France, Spain, and the Dutch Republic. -
