Napoleon’s birth
Napoleon was born in French-ruled Corsica in 1769. His parents were Carlo Buonaparte and Letizia Ramolino. -
Becoming an officer in the French army
He graduated from the military academy at the age of 16. He became a lieutenant the same year, 1785 -
Military campaign in Egypt and Syria
In 1798, he lead his army to Egypt to challenge the British. He lost the battle, but the french never heard of it due to the lack of spreading information. -
Coup d’état
In November of 1799, Napoleon returned from Egypt. His friends convinced him to take power, which he succeeded in doing. -

The Battle of Trafalgar
on October 21, 1805, Napoleon battled the french navy against the spanish. This long battle was eventually won by the british. -
Joseph Bonaparte becomes King of Spain
Joseph, Napoleon's older brother became the King of Spain in 1808. His reign was only 5 years, however. -
The Battle of Wagram
This battle was only a few days long, incredibly shorter than an average battle. The battle was fought between the French and Austrians. -
The Grand Empire
Within Napoleon's reign as a military leader, he expanded the size of the French empire extensively. He used large armies and fast attacks to outwit his enemies and, most of the time, win. -

Alexander I, the Czar of Russia, was Napoleon's ally. However, when they suspected each other of having competing designs with Poland, trouble brewed.
