Napoleon was born on August 15, 1769 in Ajaccio, Corsica. Corsica is a French ruled island in the Mediterranean. -
Becoming a French General
In 1778, At the age 9 Napoleon was sent to France to train to get a job in the military. Soon he would grow to be a very successful and brilliant leader in the french military. He was rapidly ranking higher up in the military ranks. -
Military campaign in Egypt and Syria
1798–1801 was Napoleon's campaign in Egypt and Syria. He wanted to defend French trade interests. He also wanted to weaken Britain's access to British India and wanted to establish scientific enterprise in the region. The Egyptian campaign proved to be a disaster but he covered it up pretty well. -
Coup d'eta
In 1799, he moved from a military leader to a successful political leader. Another constitution was drawn up and took the title First counsel. In, 1802 he named himself counsel for life. Then in 1804 got enough power to assume himself the emperor of France. -
The Napoleonic code
After four years of planning, Napoleon created a foundation for France called the Napoleonic code. The code gave France it's first set of laws after the revolution. The laws mentioned property, colonial affairs, family, and individual rights. The code was approved in March 1804. -
Napoleons Corination
Napoleon was crowned Emperor of the French on a cold December 2nd 1804. Napoleon in great care and detail just like he planned his wars. When the pope went to give him the crown instead the pope putting the crown on napoleon's head, napoleon took the crown off the popes head and put it on himself. -

The battle of Trafalgar was a naval battle. It was fought between the British and he French and Spanish. The battle of Trafalgar was part of the Napoleonic wars. -
Joseph Bonaparte becomes King of Spain
Once Napoleon had consolidated his power, the two clashed on the issue of a successor. Then they went there separate ways. In 1806, napoleon named his older brother Joseph Bonaparte king of Naples. Then, in 1807 when napoleon invaded Spain he replaced King Charles IV with his brother Joseph. Joseph did all in his power to win over the Spanish people. -
Battle of Wagram
The Battle of Wag ram was a battle between the French and the Austrians. The French won the battle which led to the splitting of the British and Austrian Alliance against France. The battle of Wag ram was the most troops that napoleon had to command. -
The Grand Empire
Napoleon now had time to Recreate Europe. He now has made Tuscany, Piedmont, Genoa, and the Rhineland French territory. Also he made other European countries under his or his family, and allies control. This was known as the Grand empire. -
The Invasion of Russia
Napoleon lead his army across the Niemen River in 1812. Although, Napoleons army was almost completely wiped out within 6 months of the invasion because of temperature below freezing, not enough food, disease and Russian assaults on his army. This proved to be the start of the end for napoleon. -
The Battle of nations
The battle of nations also called the Battle of Leipzig was fought from October 16th - 19th 1813 in Saxony. The battle of Leipzig was the largest battle of the Napoleonic wars and the largest battle in Europe until World War I. The Austrians, Prussians, Russians and Swedes teamed up to take down The French army ran by napoleon. Napoleon was defeated in that battle and he went into exile. -
Napoleon’s exile to Elba
In 1814, Napoleon Renounces the throne. In the Treaty of Fontainebleauis states that napoleon is banished From the island Elba. -
Napoleons return.
On February 26, 1815 Napoleon Bonaparte, some generals and about a thousand soldiers boarded a ship and went from Elba back to France. Napoleon finally decided to return back to France. he has no idea what is going to happen. -
The Battle of Waterloo
The Battle of Waterloo took place in Belgium on June 18, 1815. This was the final defeat for Military defeat Napoleon. He conquered most of Europe as the military leader of France. -
Napoleon’s exile to St. Helena
After the Europe defeated Napoleon in Belgium They didn't want to take a chance of him returning so they sent him to an island in the south Atlantic called St. Helena. He died their at the age of 51 on on May 5, 1821,
