In this election Anrew Jackson went against John Q. Adams, winning the popular vote. Although this was not enough, so The House of Representatives selected John Q. Adams. -
Election of 1828
In the Election of 1828 Andrew Jackson went against John Quicny Adams... again. Jackson won by a landslide, and Adams was no longer President. -
Indian Removal Act
Native Americans in the Southern were forced out of their homes, and told to move West. This was later called 'The Trail of Tears'. -
Nulification Crisis
Jackson was faced with the challenge of South Carolina threatening to secede (leave) the Union because of a tariff on imports. -
Bank War (state banks)
Jackson did not like the Bank because the bank was the cenrtal political controversy of his administration. Jackson veto the bank bill.
