    Al Qaeda attacks the Twin Towers (World Trade Center) and the Pentagon after hijacking four commercial airliners. Two crashed into the world trade center, one crashed into the pentagon, and one was found in a field after passengers struggled to take down the hijackers.

    Helicopter Shot Down
    A CH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down. This helicopter held 30 US soldiers. 17 of them were Navy Seals. One of them was a civilian interpreter. and seven were afghan troops.
