    The Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was a law that the British tried to aim at the smuggling sugar and molasses in the colonies by reducing the previous tax rate. The purpose was to raise revenue. The colonists was angry because they felt like being restricted to trading.

  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This was an imposed tax by the British parliament, this act required many printed materials in the colonies be on stamped papers in London. This act is also another way to help the British to pay for their debt. The colonist wasn't happy with this act either and it was judged to be a more dangerous assault on their rights.

  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    Quartering Act is an act that order local governments of America colonies to provide housing and provisions for the British soldiers. The colonists disliked and resented the Act as unjust taxation. This happened because the British officers who fought in the 7 Years War found it hard to persuade colonial to pay for quartering of their troops.

  • Townsend Act

    Townsend Act
    This was also another law by the British government for the America colonies. This act place new taxes and took away some freedom for the colonists. The colonists was angry just like the other acts because it wasn't right and fair. As the result if this act, the colonists decided boycott British goods and make their own products.

    Intolerable Acts
    This was a law tried to aim at the punsishing Mattchusetts colonists for the incident known as The Boston Tea party.
