On this day George Washington is elected to become the first president of the United States. The length of his presidency was a total of eight years. It was followed after this that people should follow suit and only have a max of eight years as president, but it is never set in stone. (Source 2) -

Senator Serrano proposes amendment to repeal the 22nd amendment
On this date, a New York Reppresentative, Jose Serrano, propposes an amendment that would essentially void the twenty second amendment. It would make it legal once again to run for more than two terms as specified in the twenty second amendment. Will this pass? We wont know until the day that it happens, or if it never does.
