    This portrait of Marianne von Werefkin has bright colors that make the painting stand out. First, the bright yellow wall is painted with a broad brush and harsh strokes with a light stroke of pink. Her large hat's orange, green, and blue flowers are so vibrant, with brown and some blue turquoise underneath. I love the purplish pink scarf that she is wearing around her neck. Gabrielle used black lines to define the scarf, which also helps us see her white dress.
