Abebe Bakila had won 12 out of the 13 marathons he had ran. His only loss was in the Boston Marathon in 1963 where he finished 5th. Abebe bakila was also known for winning his firsth gold medal, which was also stated as the first medal a "black" person to win that medal. He ran in a time of 2:15:16.2 which was the worlds best. -
