    The Stono Rebellion
    The Stono Rebellion occurred in September 1739, in South Carolina. A literate slave,Jeremy, led a large group of slaves against colonists.They burned several plantations and killed 20 whites.The militia ultimately defeated them. The militia suppressed the rebellion after a battle in which both slaves and militiamen were killed.   • Proclamation Act

    Proclamation Act
    . The cost of another war was something Great Britain did not want to risk.The Proclamation act was instituted largely in response to this. This Act closed the Appalachian west to settlement, it set boundaries between natives and colonials and canceled western land claims of the colonies. The name came from leader Danial Shay of Massachusetts, who had been in the army.To the farmers, this situation seemed extremely familiar; the revolutionaries had routed the British, but a new form of seemingly corrupt and self-serving government had replaced them.
