Haven and her sister Ashely headed towards their fathers weding. He was marrying Lorna, the "weather pet" on their local news station. Their parents had split a year and a half earlier, because he had an affair with Lorna. Ashley's wedding was only two weeks away, and Haven was sad she was leaving. She would have no one but her crappy job at the mall, and her mother. -

Ashley had been treating everyone rudely and even her fiance, who got in a fight with he reveryday. Haven didn't feel wanted anymore, because her mom was going to Italy for 6 months with their neighbor, and Havens best friend obsessed over the boy she met at camp. She had taken up bad smoking and drinking habits, and Haven hated all the change. She hated her gigantic size and insecurity. Until she bumped into Sumner again, Ashley's old boyfriend from the best summer of her life when she was 10. -

Sumner was a lively exciting boy and Haven bumped into him everywhere, work, the neighborhood. Haven felt like she could tell him anything, and only him because he actually cared. Haven and her friend went to a fashion show in the mall, and the famous model Gwendolyn Rodgers was there. She was tabloid and tv famous, and had started in tht mall, and was also haven's neighbor. She was a giant even compared to Haven, and she knew somehow they understood eachother. -

Ashely almost canceled her wedding, because she was so stressed. Havens mom tolfd her she would be going to Europe and Haven would have to stay with the weather pet, also that they would be moving. Haven was starting to feel like she was groing into her tall, independent body, she was fed up with everyone. At work, she got so mad at a woman that she threw a shoe at her face, and then ran out of the mall (fired) with Sumner seeing the whole situation. -

Haven ran away after a fight with her mom, and then being yelled at by her sister the night of the dress rehearsal. She ran to a old people home and saw sumner dancing, and joined the fun. he made her feel not insecure and wanted. She then got mad when he treated her like a chil, and jumped out his car and ran into the woods when it was pouring rain. She got lost in the dark, and bumped into Gwendolyn. They just connected when the saw eachother and smiled. Then Ashley found Haven, took her home. -

Haven asks Ashely why she broke up with Sumner, and Ashley told her that he cheated on her, and he's still immature. Thats why he treated Haven like she was childish. Haven never thought about her sister in a bad wy again after that, because she saw how strong she was. At the wedding. Haven actualy cried because she was sad to see her sis go but glad she was happy.
