Squanto Two Wampanoag (Squanto and Samoset) walk into the pilgriams camp and begin to teach them how to survive in the new land. -
Celebrations
The First Thanksgiving To celebrate their first harvest the pilgrims decide to have a feast. Massasoit, the leader of the Wampanoag, and 90 of his men attend the celebration. We are not sure when this celebration took place. We just know that it was in the Autumn of 1621. -
Thanksgiving and Praise
General George Washington issues orders to set aside December 18, 1777 as a day of thanksgiving and praise to celebrate the victories of the American Revolution. -
