Under Abby Marlatt as director of the school, specialized majors were developed, including a Textiles major -

Under Frances Zuill as director, the Department of Home Economics became the School of Home Economics -
Reorganization
The School of Home Economics was reorganized into four different departments, including Clothing and Textiles -
Renaming
The school's name was changed from School of Home Economics to the School of Family Resources and Consumer Science -
Textile Collection Builds
The Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection was introduced, named after a deceased textile professor who had her own renowned private collection. -
Independence
The school was moved out of the College of Agricultural Life Sciences and was reintroduced as an independent school within the University. -
Renaming, Pt. 2
The School was once again reorganized into five different departments, including Environment and Design, which would later develop into Environment, Textiles and Design -
Renaming, Pt. 3
As we know it today, the school was renamed from School of Family Resources and Consumer Science to the School of Human Ecology. -
Renovations
A project was launched to renovate the school building further, bringing the school closer to how we know it today. -
Renovations, Pt. 2
As of June 2012, the School of Human Ecology was moved to Nancy Nicholas Hall, after undergoing renovations to make it the building we know today.
