Fredonian Rebellion
First attempted by Anglo settlers in Texas to secede Mexico led by Haden Edwards and Benjamin, they declared independence from Mexican Texas in the Fredonian Rebelllion. The mexican army won and this sparked the Texas Revolution. -
Mier Y Teran Report
Happened after the Fredonian Rebellion, the Mexican government sent General Manuel Mier Y Teran to determine how much of a threat Anglo Americans where. He reported the ratio from Anglo Americans to mexicans was 10 to 1. Mexico needed to get in control of Texas, they wanted to make Texas less apealing so they abolished Slavery. -
Law of April 6, 1830
The Mexican Government passed the Law of April 6, 1830 to keep immigration under control and make it illegal and cancelled all
empresarial grants that had not been fulfilled. The Mexican government also encouraged Europeans and Mexicans to come settle in Texas, to overrun Anglo Americans. Taxes where put on imports and established new forts. -
Turtle Bayou Resolutions
The settlers who gathered at Turtle Bayou sent colonist John Austin to get a cannon. While they waited they wrote the Turtle Bayou Resolution and pledged their loyalty to Mexico and Santa Anna . -
Battle of Gonzales
Was the result of the attempts of the Mexican government to retrieve a small cannon that was given to them by the Tonkawa Indians. The early engagements favored the Texans because the sudden disorder had not given Mexicans time to prepare for the war. The war lasted 18 minutes. -

Siege of the Alamo
Started in December, led by George Collinsworth and Benjamin Milam. Mid February 1836 Colonel William B Travis took command. February 23 Mexican force took over and outnumbered 10 to 1, the siege lasted 13 days and the famous battle cry is "Remember the Alamo" -
Texas Declaration and Independence
The Texas Declaration of independence was the declaration of independence of the Republic of Texas from Mexico. It was led by George Childress and also included Edward Conrad, James Gaines, Bailey Hardeman, and Collin McKinney. -
Capture of San Antonio
Small Texas army captured important crossroad town of San Antonio Bexar and seized the Alamo. -

Runaway Scrape
Texans panicked when they heard Santa Anna was coming to Texas. They though indian tribes where involved with Santa Anna. They completed mass exodus and rebellious colonist ran. -
Battle of San Jacinto
Battle took place in San Jacinto, it lasted 18 minutes. Santa Anna surrendered to Sam Houston. The Texan Army won. -
Treaty of Velasco
The treaties where signed on May 14th. It said Mexican soldiers would cease and Santa Anna would withdraw his forces, Mexican and Texans armies would be exchanged and land would be restored. The Treaty of Velasco ended the Texas Revolution and Texas was free -
Massacre of Goliad
Colonel James W. Fannin (in charge of Texian Army) led the army to Victoria. Fannin didnt leave fast enough and Santa Anna catched up. Fannin told them to make a square on the prarie instead of hiding in the woods. The Texian Army was killed.
