Texas Revolution
The Texas Revolution was battle for Texas. There are 6 important battles that are: Battle off Gonzales, Battle of the Alamo, Battle of Coleto Creek, Goliad Massacre, Battle of San Jacinto, and the Convention of 1836. -
Battle of Gonzales
A small skirmish for a small cannon named Gonzales. The mexican troops were under Colonel Ugartechea, and the Texian milita was under John Henry Moore. In the end the mexican withdrawel and the Texians kept the cannon. -
Constitutional Convention of 1836
Delegates meet in Washington-on-the-Brazos, Texas. This is when/where the Texas declaration of independence was made and signed. -
Battle of Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo was a 13-day siege. It was the Texian troops under William B. Travis and James Bowie, and the Mexican army under Santa Anna. None of the Texian troops survied the battle. -
Battle of Coleto Creek
The Texian army, led by General Fannin, was traveling to Victoria. On their way they met up with Col. Urrea and the mexican army. A battle broke out between the armies. In the end Fannin's army surrrendered. -
Goliad Massacre
It was an execution of the texian soldiers. -
Battle of San Jacinto
It is the final battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texian army was led by Sam Houston, while the mexican army was led by Santa Anna. The Texians destroyed a bridge, the only way to leave the battlefield. Becuase of Santa Anna's mistake, and the texian army's great timing, Texas won the revolution. The #1 cries was " Remember the Alamo" and "Remember Goliad".
