La Salle
Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle established Fort St. Louis at Matagorda Bay, and formed the France's claim to Texas. Two years later, La Salle was murdered by his own men. -

Austin Grant
Stephen F. Austin received a grant from the Mexican government and began to bring people to the Brazos River. -
Mexican Independence

They toke a vote for secetion and it was 171 to 6 and the secesion happened. -
