Austin Grant
Stephen F. Austin got a grant by the Mexican goverment. He began to colonize in the bvrazos river area. -
Mexican Independence
There constatution gave them a republican form of goverment. It failed to show the states with in the Republic including Texas. Mexico thought they had some land that Texas said they had. -
Austin imrisoned
They directed Austin to Travel to Mexico City. Santas Ana rufused to give Tejas a grant and threw Austin in Jail. -
Battle at Gonzales
The People from Texas repulsed a detachment of Mexican soldiers. The Mexicans sent an army of 100 to get a cannon that had been given to a resiednt in Gozales. The Texans put up the com and take it flag. -
Battle at Alamo
They were destroyed by the Mexican army after a two week siege in the Battle of The Alamo. Every Texas soldier died in the Alamo. Every Texan remembers this oment in the war it gave the Texans hope. -
Runaway Scape Begins
The start of terror and painc began amoung Texans as Santa Anna started winning battles in all of the cites and towns he went to. Colonist obtained all there belongings and left there homes. -
Massacre At Goliad
The texans surrednerd in Goliad beliving that they and the other people that surrednerd would be in Mexican captivity and eventually go back home. Instead the Mexicans divided the Texans in to 3 groups and open fired and killed ost of the Texans. -
Battle of San Jacinto
Sam Houston meets Sannta Anna in San Jacito close to Houston the war ends in a Texan defeat and the Mexicans give up. The war ends in 19 minuets with Sannta Anna captuerd. -
Texas Joins the United States
James Polk the USA President leads a large campangn to put Texas in the USA. The Teaxans signed it creating Texas the 28 state of the USA. -
Texas secedes and joins the confederacy
Texas wants to keep there slavery. They seced and join the Confederacy after a poll that had 176 people wanting to secede and 6 people not wanting to. Sma Houston whoever was against it. -
Battle of Galveston
26 confederate soldiers were killed. Also 117 were wonded. The Confederate recaputed the island of Galveston. 400 men were captured in total on both sides.
