Battle of San Jacinto
The Battle of San Jacinto was the last battle of the Texas revolutionary war. Santa Anna waited until noon on April 21 to be attacked by Sam Houston's army. He then decided that Houston was not going to attack, and let his men take a siesta. Houston then attacked and overcame Santa Anna. The battle lasted 18 minutes. Over 600 Mexican soldiers were killed and only 9 Texan soldiers were killed. This event was good for Texas because it gave them independence from Mexico. -
Battle of San Jacinto Alternate ending
If Texas had lost the Battle of San Jacinto, we probably never would have gained independence from Mexico. This would have greatly altered Texas history. -
Texas Becomes a state in the United States alternate ending
If Texas had not become a state, we would have struggled for a long time and probably eventually be taken over by the Mexican government which would have altered Texas history for forever. -
Texas Becomes a state in the United States.
Texas finally became a state after many years of being a republic. The reason why it took so long was that adding Texas to the union would create another slave state. But on December 29, Texas became a state when U.S. president James K. Polk and Texan president Anson Jones agreed to annexation. This was good for Texas because it gave them protection from Mexico and Indians and helped with debt. -

The Civil War
When many slave states, including Texas, seceded from the union, it began the civil war. The South was at a big disadvantage because it had fewer people and fewer factories. The North also set up brigades so nothing could be imported. Texans led by John Bell Hood fought throughout the south and three battles were fought in Texas. -
The civil war (continued because characters are limited)
The south lost the civil war when Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. This was bad for Texas because they could no longer have slaves, which their economy was based off of, and had lost many lives in the civil war. -
The civil war alternate ending
If the south had won the civil war, slavery would still have been legal for a long time, which meant that people never would have even been able to think about gaining rights. Slavery would probably have eventually stopped anyway, but winning the civil war would have greatly effected Texas.
