Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Rolland Fox and Betty Fox. He was the second oldest child out of the family. -
Where he Lived
Fox lived in Portland Coquitlam, with his older brother: Fred and younger sister: Judith and younger brother: Darrell. -
Car Accident
On November 12 1976, Fox was driving home in Portland Coguitlam, and was distracted by a nearbrige construction site and smashed into a pickup truck. -
Leg Amputated
After feeling pain in his right knee, Fox went to the hopspital to get it checked out, then was told he had to have his leg amputed for which he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. -
Fox's First Marathon
Fox's first marathon was in 1979, he competed in the Prince George, British Columbia Marathon, he finished last and was greeted with tears and many congratulations . -
Letter Sent to the Canadian Cancer Society
On 15 October 1979, Fox sent a letter to the Canadian cancer Society, in which he stated that he would ''conquer" his disability and to promise that he would complete the Marathon of Hope. -
Marathon of Hope
The Marathon of Hope began on August 20 1980, to began the marathon Fox dipped his right leg in the Atlantic Ocean near St. John's Newfoundland. -
Arrival to hospital
After Fox was experiencing chest pains and violent coghing fits he was forced to go to the hospital and get it checked out. He then found out that the cancer had spread to his lungs and he didn't know how long he had to live. -
Death
Sadly, Fox died after getting cancer for the second time in hospital at the Royal Colubmian Hospital in New Wesminster, with his family by his side, -

Betty Fox, mother of Terry Fox was a big influnece for not only Terry but the world, she was Terry's hope and beginning. She was also founder of the Terry Fox Foundation. She died of diebetes and arthritis.
