Good Times
"Good Times" was the first African American family comedy and it aired on CBS in 1974. This series had to do with a family in the projects of Chicago. Esther Rolle and her husband James, struggle to support their family. The series had 6 seasons and came to an end in 1979. The cast are Ja'net DuBois, Ralph Carter, BernNadette Stanis, Jimmie Walker, Esther Rolle, John Amos,and Johnny Brown. -
"In Living Color"
"In Living Color" was a sketch comedy/Hiphop series and aired on Fox network, with 5 seasons, and created by Keenen Ivory Wayan. It was a mixture of African American comedians and other races, doing funny scenes for a half hour. Cast members were Keenen, Jim Carey, David A. Grier, Tommy Davidson, Kim Wayans, Damon Wayans, Jamie Foxx, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and the fly girls dancing to the theme song, That's the way you're living in Living Color. the series ended in 1994. -
