The Birth of Tecumseh
Tecumseh was born at the Scioto River. He was apart of an Indian tribe, the Shawnee. His father being the warchief meant he was next in line. -
The Death of Tecumseh's Father
Tecumseh's father had died at the battle of Point Pleastant. Tecumseh was 6 years old. This was during lord Dunham's war. -
Tecumseh's Village is Moved
Tecumseh's village got moved due to the attack from mounted militia of John Bowen. Realizing their vulnerablility, they had moved. They would the migrate to Prophets Town later on. -
Tecumseh Joins a Band of Shawnee
Tecumseh had joined of Shawnee who fought off White people who attempted to attack their villages. He had been angry at white settlers due to the death of his father. He had anger that had also grown due to the immigration of Whites to the west -
Tecumseh Moves South
Tecumseh ends up traveling south with his brother, Cheeseekau. They had done this to live and fight among the Chickamauga. They fought off white settlers. -
Battle of Fallen Timbers
Tecumseh had taken part in the Battle of Fallen Timbers, but had lost forcing the Native Americans to sign the treaty of Greenville. Tecumseh however did not sign the treaty. He had then gained followers from this event. -
Tecumseh & Tenskwatawa Settle in Prophet Town
The two brothers accepted an invitation from Potawatomi to move to the mouth of Tippecanoe. This new town was called Prophets Town. Tenskwataw was then called "The Prophet." -
Tecumseh Joins the British During the War or 1812
War breaks out between the British and Americans. Tecumseh joins with the British to fight the Americans. Tecumseh dies later on in the war. -
Battle of Thames
The Battle of the Thames, which took place in 1812, was a war between the United States and Great Britain. Although the Americans won the battle, this is regarded as one of the greatest battles that Tecumseh and his 500 native warriors fought even though the British retreated in the middle of the war. Tecumseh and his men continued to fight, displaying extreme valor and bravery. It is believed that the Native American chief was killed in this battle. -
Tecumseh Dies
In the spring of 1813, he joined British Major-General Henry Procter. Together they led their respective forces in the Siege of Fort Meigs. This was commanded by Tecumseh’s old nemesis William Henry Harrison.
