It boasted a more user-friendly look, had “. . . improved hardware support, and expanded multimedia capabilities” according to Wikipedia (Wikipedia Contributors, 2020). As computer usage increased in households and businesses, Windows XP made it easier for people to work with computers and has led to even more new and improved versions of the operating system that many of us use today in school, work, and at home.

    Netflix, although founded in 1997 by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings, went public on May 29, 2002 and gained popularity at a rapid speed from this point on. Netflix began as an online rental service for movies and tv shows offering a pay per rental model. They quickly expanded to monthly subscriptions and eventually streaming services and are a staple in many households today as entertainment sources; Netflix has even replaced cable television in many homes

It initially began as a way for people to connect online and was modeled after face books that colleges had as a type of directory for the students. Today, Facebook has turned into a multipurpose platform where people can share photos and updates about their day to day lives, connect with others regardless of location, and much more.

By the time the iPhone debuted, we already had cell phones, texting, internet, email, portable music, MapQuest, and hand-held games, but now we had all of those features built into one gadget in our pockets. There are millions of iPhone users who all make use of their smartphone one way or another: playing games, connecting with friends and family, or even navigating new cities.
