  • Blackberry is Released

    Arguably the original smartphone, paving the way for Apple and Android, the original Blackberry is released in 2002. You could check your email, take photos, and browse the internet on your device all while using standard cell phone features such as calling and texting. Invented by Mike Lazairidis and Jim Balsillie of Blackberry Limited, a Canadian software company, this phone became the blueprint for smartphones to come (Leung, 2012).
  • Amazon's Kindle

    Changing the way we read books forever, Jeff Bezos drops the first Kindle in 2007 and it sold out completely within 5 hours. Today, Kindles and other electronic reading tools are extremely common and makes reading on the go, buying, and storing books much easier (Smith, 2012).
