  • 2009: Uber was invented

    Invented by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp, Uber was the first ride share app to be launched. The app allowed people to order a ride right from their phone and have it there in minutes. Those who didn't want to or couldn't drive themselves around could easily get a ride to where they needed to be.
  • 2010: The iPad was invented

    Invented by Steve Jobs, the iPad was a new piece of tech that was both light enough to be taken on the go like a phone is but had big enough screen to browse the web like a laptop. This opened the door for smaller but more advanced pieces of technology to be created. Such as lighter laptops to be taken on the go.
  • 2011: Spotify launched

    Invented by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon, Spotify changed the music streaming game. Instead of having to buy and download individual songs and albums, you could get access to all kinds of music through one monthly subscription. Many other music streaming apps have since followed suit.
  • 2015: The first bluetooth earbuds

    Invented by a Japanese company named Onyko, the first bluetooth earbuds were the "Onkyo W800BT." These were the first wireless earbuds that worked by connecting to your phone's bluetooth. Soon similar technology would be created by Apple called airpods and would become a common household item.
  • 2017: Bird Scooters

    Invented by Travis Vander Zanden, Bird scooters were the first shareable scooters available. Now for a lower price than an uber or a lyft, you could take yourself where you needed to go on an electric scooter. On top of the lower price, it was better for the environment as well.
