2000's Technology Timeline

  • First Camera Phone

    Japan came out with the J-Phone J-SH04 which was a digital phone with an integrated camera.
  • Introduction of Roomba

    iRobot came out with Roomba, an autonomous vacuum cleaner that uses a cleaning algorithm to be able to clean a room while avoiding objects.
  • MySpace Founded

    This wasn't the first nor largest social networking platform but is said to be the most important and it helped define the second wave of social networking. It was developed by Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson.
  • Nintendo Wii Hits the Market

    The Wii was a new kind of console that introduced sensors to video game play and incorporated a range of movements in their games.
  • Amazon Kindle is Released

    Although it wasn't the first electronic reading system to come to the market, it was the first to gain a large following and become popular.
