Magnetic Stripe Reader
A magstripe reader can read data on an object because there are millions of of tiny strips of magnetic material encased in tape, which are all polarised either north or south when dats is written onto it. The reader then reads the data on the magnetised strips. -
Keybaords
When a key is pressed down an electrical signal is sent to the computer and uses binary and ascii to convert it into a letter on the screen. -
CRT Monitors
A CRT monitor has a vacuum tube containing some electron guns, with a phosphorescent screen. The CRT has a way to move the electron rays to project and image on the screen. -
DVDs
DVDs work when a laser runs over many bumps and dips in their surface to read the data on the disk. -
Blu-Ray
Blu-Ray's are practicaly the same as DVDs, but with moer storage due to having a shorter wavelength laser with smaller pits and bumps.
