THe first flush toilet was invented in 1596 by Sir John Harington. It used a 2 foot deep oval bowl lined with wax to prevent seepage, and use 7.5 gallons of water to flush. Flush toilets made sanitation a little nicer for those who could afford this luxury -
Automobile
The first automobile created to transport humans was developed in 1769 by Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot. Other automobiles were redesigned over the years and it has continued to evolve into what we know and depend on today. -
Light Bulb
Humphry Davy created the first electric light in 1802. It allowed people to see in the dark in a safer, easier way than lanterns. -
Radio
In 1886, Heinrich Hertz created the first radio that used electromagnetic waves to transmit the first message through the air waves. Radio was then used as a means for communication opening up an entire new world to those who had access the the device. -
Gasoline-Liquid Oxygen Rocket
Modern rockets originated in 1926 when Robert Goddard attached a supersonic nozzle to the combustion chamber of a liquid-propellant rocket. The nozzles turn the hot gas from the combustion chamber into a cooler, hypersonic, highly directed jet of gas, doubling the thrust and raising the engine efficiency from 2% to 64%. Use of liquid propellants instead of gunpowder greatly improved the effectiveness of rocket artillery in World War II, and opened up the possibility of manned spaceflight. -
AK-47
The AK-47 was designed by Mikhail Russian dude in 1946. In 1946, the AK-47 was presented for official military trials, and in 1948, the fixed-stock version was introduced into active service with selected units of the Soviet Army. -

Motorola was the first company to make a hand-held mobile phone. This device allowed consumers to make person to person calls even when the individuals were away from home or a land line. The invention of the mobile phone has changed the way people communicate with one another.
