The Google search engine
The Google search engine was made by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and released in 1997. It has since become the most popular search engine. What made it different from other search engines of the time is that it runs web pages through an algorithm called PageRank, which measures the importance of web pages, instead of looking for keywords on the website.
