  • C Programming Language is Released

    C Programming Language is Released
    Dennis Ritchie and a Team of Engineers at Bell labs created C Programming in 1972. Originally developed for the Unix OS of a PDP-11 computer, the C language has remained relevant to this day.
  • Shakey The Robot

    Shakey The Robot
    Led by Charles Rosen, Nils Nilsson, and Bert Raphael made a huge advancement in A.I. and robotics. Completed in 1972, Shakey was the first robot capable of perceiving its surroundings and making informed decisions. Equipped with a television camera, range finder, and radio antenna Shakey was able to communicate with a nearby computer and navigate its surroundings.
  • IBM SCAMP

    IBM SCAMP
    Often considered the missing link in computing history, the IBM SCAMP was a prototype personal computer Paul Friedl and his team. Although it was not commercially available it was the first of its kind and influenced later releases such as the IBM 5100.
