    Seagate Technology(formerly: Shugart Technology) creates 5MB hard disk drive for microcomputers. Seagate Technology was founded by Alan Shugart & Finis Connor along with 3 other people in around November 1979. This is one of the technologies that will evolve and help us with modern computers. From going from a brick to a thin plate, we now have smaller Hard Disk Drives. With more space we have also evolved to Solid State Drives.
  • MS-DOS

    MS-DOS (Microsoft-Disk Operating System ) was introduced with the IBM PC. Originally written by Tim Paterson. An American Programmer. As time would go on, operating systems for all sorts of computers would also add more features and more speed. The GUI would be added later down the line, and people would interact with Windows 11, and OS Monterey.

    Word is announced and released by Microsoft. Able to run text and graphics mode. Word 1.1 released in 1984 adds print merge support. Word would come to impact businesses later, and scholars. Now a days, the majority of people use Microsoft Word for making documents, using templates, or printing posters.

    A software suite for IBM computers is developed & released. Mitch Kapor developed the software that had word processor, spreadsheets, and database. I would compare this to what would become Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Nintendo Entertainment System is released in North America. After being released in Japan 2 year prior, Americans now had access to the gaming console. This would change the way household children grow up, and bring a new age in young people - Video Gamers.

    The RM-501 Movemaster Gripper is released. An industrial robot, the robot gripper would help assembly lines and help handling chemicals. Techno phobia would take effect in some employers, as a simple machine could eliminate the need for a group of workers.

    Apple introduces their first Mac Portable. Weighing in around 15 pounds, an est. price is $6,000. With removable track ball and high performance at the time. This would be the prime model for some time and would later evolve through ages. Now a days you could buy the new MacBook Pro for 2500 with 16GB Ram and 512 of SSD. Just for 4 Pounds, better than 15.
