    Hewlett-Packard introduces the HP-35
Co-founder Bill Hewlett envisioned a device that could do all the work of a bulky desktop scientific calculator but could fit in the palm of your hand. He challenged his engineers and they delivered, creating one of the fastest calculators on the market. The HP-35 distinguished itself by containing a solid-state memory similar to a computer while being able to run logarithmic and trigonometric functions.

Compared to Intel's earlier model the 4004, the 8080 had nearly double the transistors at 4,500 and could run at speeds of 2MHz. Most importantly, many of the things that required extra chips were now integrated with the 8080. This goes to show how fast technology changes even to this day.
