Philips released the VCR in 1972. Before the VCR's release, there was no way to watch a tv show airing at any time you wanted. Worst of all, if you missed a show when it aired because you couldn't watch it at that specific time, there was no way to watch that program unless it was re-run. However with the VCR, one could just record a program on a VHS tape and watch it at anytime. -
Floppy Disk
The floppy disk was invented by Warren L. Dalziel and was made available in 1972. Predating USB flash drives, floppy disks functioned as removable storage, which can be used to transfer data. With these, it was possible to work on a document, for example, on one computer, transfer it to another computer and continue working on it there. -
