Ted Hoff and the Microprocessor
Intel's 4004 was released January 1971. It was invented by Ted Hoff. Although the current microprocessor is far better then what Hoff originally created it hold a very important part in computers. It has all the functions of a central processing unit of a computer. -
Martin Cooper and the Cellphone
Martin Cooper lead the team that built the first handheld cell phone. The DynaTAC was what they created and it was about 2 pounds and only offered 30 minutes of talking before needing to be charged again. This was the start of creating something people nowadays cannot live without. -
Robert Metcalfe and Ethernet
In 1973 Metcalfe figured out how to link computers and called it Ethernet. In today's age most computers connect to the internet using Ethernet. -
Ted Woodland and the barcode
Ted Woodland had the idea for years before technology allowed him to go through with his idea. In order to provide an easier checkout experience he created the barcode we all know today. -
The Steves and Apple
In 1976 Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak launched Apple 1. It was one of the worlds first personal computers. This not only started the growth of computers but also Apple as a company and all the products they have today.
