The modern-day pencil was first invented in 1858. During this time, pencils did not have erasers attatched on the tip until Hymen Lipman decided to attatch them, to create our modern-day pencils. -

The wristwatch was invented in 1868 and by a man named Patek Philippe. -
Typewriter
The typewriter was successfully invented in 1868 by Christopher Sholes, Samuel Soule and Carlos Glidden. -
Telephone
The first telephone was invented March 10 of 1876 by inventor Alexander Graham Bell. Bell said “Mr. Watson, come here, I want you.” into his experimental telephone, making it the first sentance ever transmitted via electricity. -
Radio
The radio was invented in 1897 by Edouard Branly. -
Airplane
The airplane was invented on December 17, 1903 by Orville and Wilbur Wright. -
Refrigerator
The refrigerator was invented by Fred Wolfe in 1913. -
Microwave
The microwave was invented by Percy Spencer and was first sold in 1947. -
Battery-operated Smoke Detector
There are two types of smoke detectors - the photoelectric and the ionized smoke dectector but the first battery-operated smoke detector was invented August 5th, 1969 by Duane D. Pearsall. -
Internet
Robert Kahn and Vint Cerf invented the internet, which can be traced back until 1958, but was first introduced to the public in the 90s.
