Calculators can be used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and graph positive and negative numbers, and many more complicated solutions. There are different type of calculators, physical and electronic ones (computers, phones), etc.
  • Computer lab

    Computer lab
When I was in Elementary, my school had a computer lab. Teachers would reserve and use the computer lab (a classroom with 20-25 desktop computers) to take the entire class to learn and use the computers. Sometimes the computer lab was used to type rough draft essays, play computer games, or learn how to use the word and powerpoint programs. During this time, students didn't have individual laptops. During this time, going to the computer lab was like going on a field trip. It was fun!
  • T.V. & V.C.R. Cart

    T.V. & V.C.R. Cart
A t.v. on wheels was what I would call this in elementary. The T.V. & V.C.R. Cart was used by my teachers in elementary, middle, and high school. It was used to watch movies, documentaries, movies, book readings, trainings, etc. in the classrooms.
  • Overhead Projector

    Overhead Projector
A form of note taking during class. My teachers would use the overhead projector in middle and high school. They would use it to write notes in the transparent sheets to later project them to the class. This is how I would take notes in class.
  • Tape recorder

    Tape recorder
I remember using the cassette recorder and player in my Spanish classes in High School. I remember using them to listen to cassette recordings to take notes, listen to books with my table group, and I also used it to record my progress talking in Spanish. In my AP Spanish class, I also used the tape recorder to take verbal tests in the classrooms to prepare us for the oral section of the AP test.
  • iclicker

    iclicker
The first time I used an iclicker was in a linguistics lecture class in college. This was a method used by my professor in a way to take attendance in large classes. It was also a way to answer quiz or warm-up questions during class.
