  • Adobe Photoshop

    Thomas and John Kroll created Photoshop to display grayscale on a monochrome monitor. They wanted to edit photos and include special effects.
  • Sony Playstation

    Invented by Ken Kutaragi, it first sold in Japan. It became a hit so it started selling in different countries months after, being used by kids and adults. It was created because they wanted a more realistic and in-depth visual and they achieved it by incorporating a CD-ROM format.
  • DVD

    Although there is not one specific person who takes claim for the DVD, many companies do, including, Sony, Phillips, Mitsubishi, and many others. It was invented for better quality and for it being compact. The sound was better and wasn't as bulky as a VHS.
  • Google

    Larry Page and Sergey Brin are the founder of Google. It was invented to accumulate the mass of data on the internet and to put it all in one place. They ended up building a search engine to help navigate it.
  • MP3 Players

    Karlheinz Brandenburg invented the MP3 Player, and its purpose was to listen to music more efficiently. Instead of carrying around a bulky WalkMan, an MP3 Player could easily fit in your pocket. Plus, you didn't need tapes to play the music, it was all digitally downloaded onto it.
