  • First CD player

    Sony released it's first compact disc player which could play CD's. They sold for around $675 at this time, as CD's were seen as something only rich people had until it made it's way into many households.
  • DNA Fingerprinting

    A Geneticist, Dr. Alec Jeffreys created DNA fingerprinting after studying hereditary family diseases and found connections and patterns between DNA. This way, he discovered that you can identify a human based off of their genetic variation
  • Apple Macintosh

    Many people may not know the Macintosh was created this early. Many people know Steve Jobs as the mastermind behind the invention. The macintosh became one of the world's first successfully commercial personal computers.
  • Disposable Camera

    The disposable camera created by Kodak included the ability to take 24 photos, print them, and dispose of the camera afterwards. This changed the game in how memories were documented and they only ran for about $6 a piece!
  • Nintendo Gameboy

    After Nintendo being an almost 100 year old company, they finally released the Gameboy, a personal gaming toy that you could use and switch out different game cartridges depending on what you wanted to play.
