Ipod Release
Music is very important and in 2001 there was the mac release of the IPOD- a device to stream music and instead of having an album and having to listen to the CD you could now listen to a wider range of songs and more songs on a tiny little device -
AOL Instant Messenger
As a teenager, we didn't have internet on our phones, we mostly had AOL IM- this meant that to talk to people, we were on the family computer and had to wait until our friends were online.
Being online meant that you had to be on the internet and logged into AOL IM. You could talk to multiple people at once. -
My first phone
The first phone I had as a phone in my room. It was so exciting for me to have a phone in my room. This was before the use of the everyday cell phone when people mostly had land-lines. They left messages and it was a big deal to have your own phone line or your own phone to talk. -
Cell Phones
Now cell phones are in everyone's hands but when I was in high school, they were not as common. My first phone was when I was in high school and it was a flip phone. I was on a pay-as- you go plan and so I had to watch my minutes and time very carefully. There was no internet only messages and phone calls where every minute was tracked -
Ipad
In 2010- Apple released a tablet computer that was small and had touchscreen. This tablet could access the internet, write and send email, play music as well as play games and even download apps.
