    The Typewriter
    The typewriter was an American technologic innovation in 1867 that made it easier to expedite the job tasks with the growth of the business industry. It was invented in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an urban city with a vast business industry. The typewriter benefitted businesses by creating business documents. It was an organized means in keeping business records. Companies sought to sell luxury, safety, and advertise for a new-and-improved model of the typewriter. Typewriters helped in advancement.
  • The Telephone

    The Telephone
    The creation of the telephone and National Bell Telephone company created a technologic advancement in America for telecommunications. Alexander Graham Bell created his telephone company in Boston, MA which facilitated communication channels in urban to rural areas in the U.S. This technologic invention allowed for communications to increase after the creation of the typewriter. People were able to communicate not only in a typed writing format, but also verbally on the telephone.
  • The Airplane

    The Airplane
    The invention of the first successful airplane took place in 1903 by the Wright brothers. They made the first controlled flight on aircraft on December 17, 1903, four miles south of Kitty Hawk, NC. This technologic advancement helped the U.S by expediting the speed of travel, and kept people connected in the country. Airplanes are also used to deliver communication such as mail, and other items, which further advanced communication skills after the typewriter and telephone.
  • The Ford Model T

    The Ford Model T
    Henry Ford created the Ford Model T, which was a car that was affordable for the average American in 1908 in Detroit, Michigan. The cars were mass produced in an assembly line, which allowed mass production and lower rates for U.S citizens. This appealed to the middle-class, and allowed the technologic advancement in American transportation history. Citizens were able to commute locally and domestically which was an advancement along with the creation of aircraft for travel means.
  • The Radio

    The Radio
    The radio emerged in the American market in 1916. Advertisements, radio programs, play-by-play descriptions of sporting events, and news media became widely broadcasted across the nation because of the invention of the radio. In the 1920s most American households owned and utilized a radio as a means of communication. This technologic advancement helped everyday citizens stay up to date on the national news, further advancing communication from the typewriter to the telephone.
  • The Electronic TV

    The Electronic TV
    Electronic television was first successfully invented in San Francisco on September 7, 1927 by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. In 1955, over three-quarters of a million U.S. households, about half of all homes, had television sets. Many gathered not only to watch TV while also eating dinner. The marketing of small folding tray tables and frozen “TV dinners” encouraged this. This advancement in technology changed entertainment and modernized communication in America altogether.
