Fax Machine

1982

Although this was technically not the first fax machine, it was the year that Gammalink got in on the fun and made the computer fax board. From then on, they became much more obtainable.

Answering Machine

1984

Again, the first one was not invented in 1984, but this was when they became widespread and ommon. They worked by recording sound onto a magnetic tape and then playing it back when requested.

Cassette Tape

1985

Originally invented in the 1960s by the Phillips company, but refined and mass-produced in the 80s, the Cassette tape is a music playing deice that uses magnetic tapes to play recorded sound.

Disposable Camera

1987

Actually invented in 1987, the disposable camera allowed you to get into photography at a much cheaper cost. The first one created by Kodak was called the "fling"

Polaroid Camera

1987

This classic, still popular invention gained traction in the 1980s. This camera immediately prints the photos that you take, an upgrade from the cameras used before which you would have to wait to get the film developed. These cameras are still loved today because of the nostalgia factor and unique picture that they produce.
