Laws that made African Americans second-class citizens. THey denied African Americans the right to vote, required segregation in public places, denied blacks the right to serve on juries, imposed severe punishment for black crminals than for white ones. -

Gave African American men the right to vote. Said the voting right of citiznes shall not be denied or taken away regardless of race, color, or previos condiion of servitude. -
Enforcement Acts
Also known as the civil rights acts or first KKK act these bills were passed to protect the right of african americans right to vote, hold office, serve on a jury, and recieve equal protection of laws. The main goal was to improve condititons for blacks and freed slaves, fighting against the KKK. -
