Leukemia Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with leukemia and began my journey in realizing my passion for becoming a nurse -
Remission
This was the day of my final dose of chemo and I was officially announced to be in remission -
High School Graduation
I graduated from my high school at 17 with my goal to become a nurse and some AP credits to help me start college classes -
First College Class
I began my college career in the summer directly after graduation. My first class being Psych 101 -
Online Schooling??
COVID-19 not only causing mass panic, but causing mass chaos for my colleges BIO department as they scrambled to figure out how to make Anatomy an online course. -
Graduating College
Obtained my A.S and applied to Palomar College nursing school (spoiler I did not make it in) -
CNA license
I attended Trinity Health Academy to obtain my CNA license -
My as an RN
I am not sure what exactly I will be specializing in, but I know I want to work with children! -
landed my first job with my CNA
Post Partum CNA -
A new school option?
While working at RSMC one of my co-workers who I was close with approached me about a new nursing school opening locally. Hearing I was going to be the first cohort made me nervous, but hearing about reduced pricing, the individuals opening the school and who teaching at the school I felt it was going to be a great opportunity. -
HESI Exam
I had all the qualifications to make it into the new institution, but needed to pass the HESI A2 exam. -
Rejection....
I applied to Palomar college twice for their nursing program only to be denied. I started to feel a little stuck, but continued to work with my license to get experience -
EXAM DAY
After months of studying the day came to take my HESI! I was able to successfully pass on my first try!! -
Accepted into the program
I received my email to be apart of the official first ADN cohort at UNC -
FIRST DAY!
My dream since I was 9 was finally coming true. I was starting my journey with lots of support from my family and with people I had lost during the years in my heart. -
Survived the first year of nursing school
with no mental breakdowns!! -
Second semester begins!
injections, med pass, and catheters galore! -
Keep Moving Forward
Hopefully 2 kids, some great travel stories and a golden retriever+cat. I am not sure what I will be specializing in, but I hope to be working with children.
