    The distribution of a film (or movie) is the process through which a movie is made available to watch for an audience by a film distributor. This task may be accomplished in a variety of ways; for example, with a theatrical release, a home entertainment release (in which the movie is made available on DVD-Video or Blu-ray Disc) or a television program for broadcast syndication and may include digital distribution.

    Our film distribution company is 'Entertainment one' they have distributed films like; Insidious 2 and The Hunger Games. These are very popular films in the Uk partly due to Entertainment Ones distribution. By using this distribution company we will attract more viwers and more recognition for our product, as Entertainment One is a well known and good Distribution Company.

    Distribution of products takes place by means of channels. Channels are sets of interdependent organizations involved in making the product available for consumption. Merchants are intermediaries that buy and resell products. Agents and brokers are intermediaries that act on behalf of the producer but do not take title to the products. 1)Buena Vista International

  • What is a Prodction Comapany?

    A production company provides the physical basis for works in the realms of the performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, and video.
    Most often, the production company for films and television provides the money, and thus sets the budget, and may also make decisions on what director, and actors can be hired. Budget often makes other decisions possible or impossible. A low budget film may not be able to be filmed in a remote location, for example.

    Our production company is called 'Swing Studios'. The logo is of a little girl on a swing, as a silhouette and in black and white. It is simple but effective especially as the title and logo fit together so well. It is shown at the beggining of our title sequence and flashes in and out with the same logo but the colours switched and blood dripping down on it. This emphasises our production company as it makes it more interesting but it also gives hints about the film.
  • Audiences

    Our movie will be rated 15+ so will appeal to the adult market. As it is about a little girl it is relatble to adults with children and any one who enjoys this genre. This doesn't just have to be a UK audience. However it may not be world wide, European maybe, as it is a low budget film and is very british focused film, especially to people of other counties and the may struggle to relate or understand.
  • Release strategies

    Our release strategies will include a film convention firstly, also posters and advertisemnets in newspaper and magasines. We are going to have a premiere located in London, Leicester Square, this will help advertise the movie more and increase the viewings. Then after the film being in Cinemas for 2 months we will release it on DVD and blu-ray to selected chain such as HMV. Our film is targeted at (15-24) this a popular age, as most people that go to the cinema are this age.
