Protesters
Security forces in Daraa killed atleast five protesters. Residents of Daraa were directed by police that they are allowed to leave but not enter back to the city. According to Syrian officials Bashar Al-Assad offered condolescnese to the family of the victims. Protesters took place in atleast five cities, including the capital. In Daraa it turned deadly. -
Syrian Forces Kill Six More People
Syrian forces killed at least six more people at midnight in the southern city of Daraa. Before the attack started electric and telephone supplies were cut off. Protesters errupted across neighborhoods in Daraat, close to the boarder of Jordan when the shooting began, The attack occurred the day after the UN officers for human rights said the authorities "need to put an immediate halt to the excessive use of force against peaceful protesters, especially the use of live ammunition". -
Slain Protesters
Thousands of Syrans took the streets in Daraain funeral marches for those who were killed by police gunfire. Shops were closed and streets were near empty as soldiers and anti-terrorism police stopped people at checkpoints. The crows protesting shouted "Syrian Freedom!" as they marched towards the cemetery. The authorities responded with water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets and live ammunition. 34 people were repoted killed by police officers. -
Protesters Demand Freedom
Demonstrators in the capital city of Syria met with force as the security forces struggled. Thousands of protesters once again joined funeral processions once again. Hundreds of people took protesters to other cities even major cities. 23 people were reported killed. Amnesty International put the death toll around Deraa in the past week at 55 at least. This is important because it expalins why more people were killed. This is important because it explains why the protest continues. -
Syria Protests Continue
2 people were reported shot dead. There were reports of between 70 and 260 political prisoners being released, in what was being seen as the latest concession.
